Students in teams of four had 10 seconds to recognize a quote from one of the books.  The competition was held at the South Plantation High School in Plantation and media specialists from all over Broward were there with students representing their schools.  Each student received a Battle of the Books t-shirt and a book!  We all had a lot of fun!

GSA Halloween Party Raised Funds for Southwest Regional Library!

On Monday, October 31, from 2:00-4:00, the Gay Straight Alliance hosted a Halloween party in the library auditorium to raise money for the Southwest Regional Library.   Thank you to everyone who helped with set up and making waffles!  There was food, drinks, music, door prizes and everyone voted for their favorite decorated pumpkin.  We raised over $150 for the “Friends of the Library.”  The “Friends of the Library” organization supports youth, teen, and literacy programs as well as purchases equipment for the library.  Thank you to everyone who participated!
